Bangalore to Ooty is a 6–7 hour drive through Mysuru, Bandipur and Mudumalai National Park, then up 36 hairpin bends to Ooty.

By car (most popular)

Route: Bangalore → Mysuru → Bandipur → Gudalur → Ooty. Leave by 6 AM to clear Bandipur by daylight (the park closes 9 PM – 6 AM).

KSRTC and private operators run direct Bangalore–Ooty buses. 7–8 hours; overnight sleepers maximise sightseeing time.

Train Bangalore → Mysuru / Coimbatore, then cab. Less popular because the direct drive is easy.

Bangalore → Coimbatore (~50 min) + 3-hour cab. Faster but skips the most scenic stretch.

Can I do Ooty in 2 days from Bangalore?+
